In my experience and without exception, those who begin a statement with --
"I'm not a racist or anything, but......."
-- follow said statement with something racist, insensitive, flat wrong or at the very least stereotypical.

I'm not a racist or anything, but... you're just another cracka blogger, aren't you?
=;-)
I was going to use the "I'm not a racist or anything" opener, but I see someone beat me to it. Oh well, I agree, if you need a statement to qualify what you are about to say, maybe you should just not say it.
Yeah, starts me rolling my eyes and thinking "oh, oh....here it comes"
I wonder what the non racist comment was......
Noveau, I won't label you a racist if you share.....
You just have to start your post with I'm not a racist but...
Ok --
It was a conversation with a stranger (white guy) whom I got paired up with on the golf course. We were talking about raising children, college and scholarships, etc. He was bitching about the cost to send his daughter to college.
He went on to say something along the lines of "I'm not a racist or anything but, I bet if my kid was a minority from the North End (poor section of Hartford - predominately black and hispanic) then she'd get a scholarship."
Most of those are need-based on income, not residence or race. He was far from poor. Just ignorant.
